My sweet sister in law gave me some bulbs about 3 years ago. I put them in the fridge way back on a shelf until time to set them out…and forgot them. I kept seeing them when I’d clean the fridge but every time, I thought it wasn’t time to set them outside.
Well… I noticed them again the other day and some of them had gotten a little mushy so I decided to put a few in a large pretty glass vase with a little water. It wasn’t long until little green stems started coming up from the little mushy things. I do believe I’ll have some flowers from those little bulbs. I have also forgotten what kind of flower they are….
Enter spiritual thoughts: When we die, we are buried in the ground but unlike the bulbs, we are completely dead. (the bulbs are physical but we are both physical and spiritual and our spirit is separated from our physical body and that means that our physical body is dead.) But God has not forgotten us!
Some people have the idea that we are a body and have a spirit…but actually we are a spirit and have a body. We will not always have this physical body…it will be resurrected and changed. There will come a day when Christians who are in their graves will hear His voice and will rise and be reunited with their spirit and the resurrected body, will be changed into a radiant body…not the same kind of body that was buried. What a wonderful day that will be for some.
“… For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
No, God has not forgotten us and He also hasn’t forgotten what kind of “flower” we were while we were alive on this earth.
