Name Brands

Posted on Updated on

The past few years there are a lot of name brands that are still highly advertised but they have started slipping in quality.  We have purchased several name brands in the past few months that are not as good as some of the lesser known brands.  They were certainly not living up to their name. Some of the later brands are better in quality than the original ones.

This reminds me of the name that we Christians live under and advertise by word but at times, not in deed.  It is sad when later groups are more moral and dedicated to what they do…than some in the original group that was founded by Christ; but it still does not make them a Christian.

Wouldn’t it be sad if people said that the later ‘churches’ were better in quality than the Original One just because some of us in His kingdom have lowered our standards and are beginning to look and act like the world?

Sometimes we may be guilty of  lip service only and  when people see our lives….we are not as good in quality as Christ wants us to be. It is much easier to talk the walk…than to walk the talk.  That’s why it takes so much effort.   It may be because of our “too busy” lives….materialism….cold heart….foul language….and many other reasons.  We are not going to be perfect as long as we have this mortal body…  but we should put forth real effort and strive to be as good as our ‘Brand Name”.

I Peter 4: 16  “…However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.”

I John 3: 2-3  “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.  All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”
