Sometimes We Think We Look So Good, Until…..

Posted on Updated on

A couple of years ago, Bobby and I decided to build a sunroom over our patio and part of the deck area. This picture shows it mostly finished. We did a fairly good job and saved about $4,000.00 in the process. We like it really well except there are certainly a lot of windows to wash.

Yesterday I got the step ladder, Glass Plus, rags and newspapers and went to work cleaning them up…again! It is quite a chore and Bobby helped. When we got through we thought they looked pretty good. The sunroom is on the west side….(this is important to this story!)

Well…just a few minutes ago I looked out the kitchen window! I called Bobby over there and we had a good laugh! Those windows look awful! It looks like you can see every swipe of the cloth and newspaper that we took…we had just smeared it around. How can they look so good and then the next evening look so very bad?

The sunlight shining on them from the west means that Bobby and I will be doing our job over.

This is the way God’s children are. We think we are looking good and we think we are so righteous…and then we open up the Book and the Sonlight (the Word) shines on us and we look worse than we thought…but we don’t think that is funny…repentance is in order. But if we walk in the light, the blood of Christ continuously cleans us from our sins. That is good to know.

In I John 1:7  John is inspired to write to Christians:   “…But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
