The Cold Hard Facts

On our way to Ada today we saw a gruesome sight.  A hawk flew down and we saw him land with his claws down on his victim.  The little mouse or whatever, probably saw the hawk’s shadow but it was too late.  It made me shiver!

It also made me think of Satan and I bet he wishes he could do that to his prey…but he can’t…IF we are wise, we can “see him coming” and resist him and the Bible tells us to submit to God, and resist the devil, and he will flee from us. James 4:7.  ” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”  Comforting?  You Betcha!

Edna, Satan is working overtime in our era of time. As much as we love our families, as some get older, we have to watch them get hurt sometimes to bring them back to their Lord. We sometimes have to simply ‘cut ties’ – like that prodigal’s father did, though never forgetting to pray for him, and when the pain and agony of whatever happens to that loved one happens, we simply have to be there, waiting. Hard to do sometimes – watching, and knowing where they are, and what they are headed for, and having to see them go through the horribleness because they won’t listen, but, sometimes there is nothing else to do BUT wait and watch. Sad that some HAVE to learn this way. Satan’s time of destruction is coming, but until then, prayer is about the only ‘defense’ and ‘encouragement’ we have, if they don’t listen to God’s Word. The ‘pig pen’ isn’t very pleasant, but this appears to be some young people’s destination for a ‘wake up’ call. Just praying that the diseases along the way don’t ruin an otherwise healthy future should they desire to make an about face. And hope those ‘claws’ can be avoided – but scars are at least better than ‘death’ and eternal existence in that lake!

Ruth, it is sad that some have to learn the hard way. I guess that’s called ‘tough love’. I don’t have any advice for that. I know how to prevent that but after we’ve failed… I have no clue on how to help, except what you have given. I know the Bible tells us over and over how to prevent it, but we have to start when they are very young.

This is especially hard when one sees grandchildren being attacked by Satan, and parents see what is happening but seem not able to help, and as you say, this needs to start very young. It also hurts when you try to point out what is happening, and your children have so much confidence in THEIR children, that they can’t fully see what is happening. Kind of like, not seeing the forest for the trees!! Thanks for listening! Helps! :-)
